Job Description:
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a highperforming team of engineers in designing building and maintaining our scalable backend services. You will work closely with product managers architects and other leaders to deliver reliable and highquality products while fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of backend engineers providing guidance mentorship and performance feedback.
Own the design development and maintenance of scalable backend services and APIs using NodeJS MySQL and MongoDB.
Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements priorities and timelines.
Drive technical excellence by setting coding standards performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize performance scalability and reliability of backend services.
Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the timely delivery of highquality software.
Advocate for best practices in software development including test automation CI/CD and system monitoring.
Foster a culture of continuous learning encouraging the team to explore new technologies and approaches to improve development processes.
Manage team performance ensuring engineers have clear career paths growth opportunities and necessary support to succeed.
Lead crossfunctional collaboration across teams to deliver complex multisystem projects efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
MustHave:
Experience: 7 years of experience in software development with 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
Backend Expertise: Strong handson experience with NodeJS MySQL MongoDB and building largescale distributed systems.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams with a focus on technical growth and professional development.
Architecture & Design: Deep understanding of system design architecture patterns and API design best practices.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills with a track record of solving complex technical challenges.
Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
Agile Practices: Experience with agile methodologies including sprint planning retrospectives and continuous delivery.
Nice to Have:
DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS GCP).
Microservices: Experience designing and managing microservicebased architectures.
Monitoring & Observability: Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana or New Relic to ensure service reliability and performance.
Scalability & Performance: Experience optimizing applications for high availability scalability and performance under high traffic loads.
