Were seeking a highly experienced Head of Legal to lead our legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters ensuring compliance with local and international laws and providing strategic legal advice to the executive team. This role is crucial for safeguarding the company s interests and supporting our business objectives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Oversight: Manage all legal affairs of the company including contracts compliance disputes and regulatory issues.
- Contract Management: Review draft and negotiate contracts with clients vendors and partners to protect the company s interests and mitigate risks.
- Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations including labor environmental and safety laws.
- Strategic Counsel: Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team on various business initiatives and risk management strategies.
- Dispute Resolution: Oversee and manage any legal disputes or litigation working closely with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the legal team fostering a collaborative and highperformance culture.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admission to practice law in Specify Jurisdiction.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of legal experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role preferably in the offshore drilling or oil and gas sector.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate contract and regulatory law.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and manage complex legal issues.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
