You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Senior Aerothermal Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvements of our cooling system design and the tools we use for its analysis using information from our stateoftheart simulations CFD department Wind Tunnel and Testing Facilities.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Aerothermal Engineer to join our Aerodynamics Department and play a pivotal role in advancing our thermal and cooling systemsa key performance differentiator in Formula 1. Using cuttingedge simulation tools CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing you will develop innovative solutions to optimise the cooling systems architecture and improve the overall aerodynamic performance of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
Drive cooling system development by:
Automating system architecture optimisation for various powerunit cooling circuits.
Creating new innovative cooling system layouts to better maximise car performance.
Using CFD to optimise ducting in collaboration with the external aero team minimising the aerodynamic impact of cooling airflows.
Conducting componentlevel CFD cooling simulations.
Validating and correlating testing data from rigs preseason tests and ontrack performance to refine simulation accuracy.
Continuously improving methodologies and processes within the cooling team.
Collaborate with the CFD department to enhance model accuracy and capability.
Work closely with Aero Development teams to maximise overall car performance.
Partner with Vehicle Performance and Vehicle Dynamics teams to develop and correlate models.
Manage endtoend Aerothermal projects including data analysis and reporting.
Core Skills and Experience:
Comprehensive understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics principles.
Familiarity with standard IT packages (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Experience with OpenFOAM and StarCCM for thermal simulation setup (preferred).
Proficiency in CAD surfacing (preferably NX).
Programming experience is desirable but a willingness to learn is equally valuable.
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Analytical thinking and decisive problemsolving abilities.
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Aeronautical Mechanical or related engineering disciplines
