At John Crane we are looking for a Filtration Compliance Engineer for our Arnhem office. The Engineer ensures that all filtration products are consistently being designed and manufactured in compliance to the relevant and latest releases of industrial regulatory and customer specific provisions and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review the structural design of filtration products and parts thereof which are exposed mechanically and under pressure to comply with required standards and regulations (e.g. ASME EN API PED) including the review of design drawings strength calculations and finite element analysis
- Expand share and streamline product compliance processes and knowledge to cover full filtration product portfolio (Seebach and Indufil)
- Improve and simplify design appraisal procedures through type approvals and standardized applications (e.g. PED CRN for all of Canada IECEx etc.)
- Monitor existing regulations from the standard offered certification overview (TPI pricelist) and ensure compliance to the latest edition
- Identify impact of regulatory changes for the products and manufacturing process and initiate management of change process to ensure continued compliance
- Document impact and scope of work into internal engineering and work procedures and ensure appropriate implementation to meet statutory requirements standards and guidelines.
- Review new regulations and provide impact analysis including technical operational cost and lead time consequences
- Create and control the compliance certification process by regulation or standard
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal experts and external agencies (HSB Lloyds etc.)
- Support third party appraisal applications in technical reviews
- Support product development projects for product and process compliance
- Codify knowledge and provide education to internal functions
- Acts as subject matter expert for all compliance queries provide education and guidance.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in mechanical engineering process engineering or similar field is preferred
- At least a 7year tenure in a compliance or lead engineering role with demonstrated ability to comprehend complex regulations and standards
- Experience with pressure vessel design standards material specifications and industrial design standards is required
- Experience in the Oil & Gas Powergen or Polymer industry is required
- Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage
- Excellent analytical approach and punctual in reporting
- Strong in articulating and documenting requirements in standard engineering practices processes systems and techniques
- Ability to adapt to change and creative in exploring alternative solutions
- Knowledge of 3D design software preferably Solid Edge is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and an ERP package preferably SAP
- Proficient in English. German Dutch and other language will be an advantage
