Role Purpose

The Head of Corporate Communications is a strategic leadership role focused on building protecting and enhancing the companys image and reputation. This position manages media relations government interactions social media strategy and crisis communications. The role is vital in shaping brand perception and ensuring clear consistent messaging across all external and internal communication channels.

How We Measure Success

  • Positive Media Coverage: Achieve a 20% yearonyear increase in positive media coverage.

  • Community Engagement: Increase social media audience engagement by 25% within the first 12 months.

  • Crisis Response: Maintain a 100% adherence rate to the crisis communication framework ensuring swift and effective response.


Reports To: Head of Marketing

Team Management: Leads a team of communication professionals including PR specialists social media managers and content creators.


Responsibilities

  • Drive brand visibility by leading PR strategies managing press releases and fostering media and influencer relationships for consistent positive exposure.

  • Oversee award submissions exhibitions conferences and events to boost the companys market presence while crafting content and managing social media strategies to grow online engagement.

  • Develop and maintain crisis communication plans acting as a spokesperson during crises and refining response strategies for future readiness.

  • Build and maintain government and regulatory relationships tracking industry changes and advocating for the companys interests in negotiations.

  • Lead a highperforming communication team streamline internal processes ensure budget efficiency and support employee engagement initiatives.


Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism Political Science or a related field.


Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communication with strong expertise in crisis management PR and social media strategy.

  • At least 35 years in a leadership role with experience managing teams and budgets.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing communication frameworks and processes.

  • Proven experience leading crisis communication efforts with a track record of mitigating reputational risks.

  • Strong media relations experience with an established network of journalists and industry contacts.


Technical Skills

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms audience engagement strategies and content creation tools.

  • Understanding of government relations and experience navigating regulatory landscapes.

  • Proficiency in project management software and media monitoring tools.
