Job Description
Job Summary
The Head of Technical Operations is responsible for overseeing all technical operations within the organization particularly in the oil and gas and marine sectors. This role involves leading a skilled technical team managing resources effectively and implementing innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills a commitment to safety and a focus on continuous improvement in technical processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement strategic plans for technical operations that align with the organizations objectives and safety standards.
Collaborate with senior management to set goals and ensure the effective use of resources.
Team Management
Lead mentor and develop a highperforming technical operations team fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct recruitment and training initiatives to build team capabilities with a strong emphasis on safety practices.
2. Operational Excellence
Oversee daily technical operations in compliance with industry best practices health safety environmental (HSE) regulations and operational protocols specific to oil and gas and marine environments.
Implement and manage operational processes that enhance efficiency while prioritizing safety.
Project Management
Plan coordinate and execute technology upgrades and new initiatives across the organization ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Manage projects related to infrastructure development in oil and gas operations ensuring timely completion within budget while maintaining safety compliance.
3. Safety Management
Develop implement and maintain safety management systems that comply with industry regulations and best practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
4. Collaboration and Communication
Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations while prioritizing safety.
Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including suppliers contractors and regulatory bodies.
5. Performance Monitoring
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance safety metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze data to inform decisionmaking and optimize technical processes with a focus on safety outcomes.
6. Risk Management
Identify potential risks in operations related to safety and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
Job Specifications
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering Information Technology or a related field (required). A Masters degree or relevant certifications in Health & Safety or Environmental Management is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in technical operations management or a similar role within the oil and gas or marine sectors.
Required Skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent project management capabilities with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in technical operations management software and tools.
Strong analytical skills for datadriven decisionmaking.
Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.
Problemsolving abilities to address operational challenges efficiently.
Indepth knowledge of health safety environmental regulations specific to oil & gas operations.
