Job Description

About Our Client:

Our client is a wellestablished company specialising in the design and manufacture of highquality bedroom furniture and kitchens from wood. With a strong focus on craftsmanship and innovation the company operates at the cutting edge of the furniture manufacturing industry. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee the daytoday operations of their workshop and lead a dedicated team of professionals.

Role Summary:

The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the production floor managing a team of 5 staff and maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity. The role requires advanced expertise in CNC machine operation and programming comprehensive woodworking skills and excellent people management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Plan and oversee daily operations in the workshop.
  • Supervise and manage a team of 5 staff handling scheduling sickness and holiday cover.
  • Liaise with the design cabinetmaking and fitting teams to ensure seamless production processes.

Technical Expertise:

  • Operate program and maintain flatbed Biesse CNC machines including writing programs and performing tool changes.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in woodworking machinery hand tools and general furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Quality and Stock Control:

  • Monitor and control waste materials diligently.
  • Manage stock control including goods in and goods out.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards across all production areas.

Health & Safety and Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all team members.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Act as the key point of contact between workshop teams and management.
  • Communicate effectively in fluent English to ensure clarity in operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the kitchen and specialised furniture manufacturing trade.
  • Proven track record in managing production teams and operations.
  • Advanced CNC machine operation and programming skills specifically on flatbed Biesse machines.
  • Expertise in woodworking machinery and hand tools.
  • Strong organisational and people management skills.
  • Full clean EU driving licence.

Desirable Certifications:

  • CNC programming certification.
  • Cabinetmaking certification.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
  • Health and Safety training certifications.

Salary:

65000 to 75000 per annum plus 20 days paid annual leave and optional contributory pension scheme.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
    (Note: The Production Manager is expected to start at 7:00 AM for planning and leave when staff finish.)
