Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Suffolk to assist with the appointment of an Engineer on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 16.13 20.43 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- Work with Transport Strategy colleagues specifically the Supervision and Planning Teams to ensure delivery of the Councils transport policy and a seamless process from preapplication consultations to delivery.
- Accurately record technical approval details including drawing references and technical reports on mastergov or other appropriate software.
- Commission and liaise with SCC Legal section to complete Highways Act 1980 section 38 and 278 agreements.
- To negotiate with the developer and their consultants to agree appropriate technical solutions on such matters as road layout junction design footpath and cycleway links drainage and street lighting and to ensure that the proposed layouts and construction of estate roads comply with SCC guidance.
- Understand and apply relevant Construction Design Management and Health and Safety requirements during the approval process.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 6 (graduate) or Level 5 (foundation degree) or considerable highway design experience
- Some experience of applying creative thought and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes and other software relevant to the role.
