Role:Subject Matter Expert (SME) DERMS Solutions
Location:Remote
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a proven track record of working with or implementing multiple Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) solutions in North America. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the DERMS product landscape a strong grasp of industry trends and the ability to provide technical and strategic guidance for integrating DERMS into utility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
SME who has worked with or implemented multiple DERMS solutions in north America
Implementation or working with DERM Teams is MUST:
Provide technical expertise on DERMS solutions including system architecture configuration and optimization.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements evaluate DERMS platforms and select the most suitable solution.
Product Landscape Knowledge:
Maintain indepth knowledge of the DERMS product landscape including platforms from EnergyHub Siemens ABB Schneider Electric GE Vernova and other leading vendors.
Evaluate the strengths weaknesses and applicability of various DERMS solutions for specific use cases.
Stay updated on new developments features and innovations within the DERMS ecosystem.
Utility Engagement and Integration:
Work closely with utilities to design and implement DERMS solutions that address specific operational challenges.
Support utilities in managing distributed energy resources (DERs) including solar PV energy storage EVs and demand response assets.
Ensure that DERMS implementations meet regulatory operational and grid stability requirements.
Technical and Strategic Guidance:
Provide strategic guidance to utilities and energy organizations on DERMS adoption and usage.
Build and deliver presentations white papers and training materials to educate internal teams clients and stakeholders on DERMS capabilities.
Develop use cases and success metrics for DERMS implementations.
CrossFunctional Collaboration:
Collaborate with project managers engineers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of DERMS with other grid systems.
Support crossfunctional initiatives to incorporate DERMS into advanced distribution management systems (ADMS) SCADA and energy market platforms.
Analytics and Optimization:
Leverage DERMS analytics capabilities to optimize DER operations improve grid reliability and reduce operational costs.
Conduct performance evaluations of DERMS systems postimplementation and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in DERMS solutions or distributed energy resource (DER) management.
Handson experience working with the implemention or managing multiple DERMS platforms in North America.
Deep understanding of the energy and utility sector including ISO/RTO market operations and grid modernization efforts.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Energy Systems or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications in energy management renewable energy or related areas are a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of DERMS product landscape including major platforms and vendors.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with North American energy regulations utility requirements and DER market trends.
Knowledge of distributed energy technologies such as solar storage EVs and demand response.
Handson experience with technical analysis project management and stakeholder engagement.
BIG PLUS NOT A MUST Experience in Ontario Markets and their unique regulatory and operational frameworks
