The Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the landscape companys operations across its Maintenance and Tree/Install divisions. This individual will manage all aspects of estimating project management business development and client relationship management to ensure operational efficiency profitability and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive knowledge of landscape operations a strategic approach to project management and a passion for growing the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating and Proposal Development
- Lead the estimation process analyzing project requirements materials labor and equipment to develop accurate competitive bids.
- Develop proposals and presentations for prospective clients ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
- Maintain and refine the estimation database and costtracking systems to ensure uptodate and accurate pricing.
- Project Management
- Coordinate project schedules and manage resource allocation across both Maintenance and Tree/Install divisions.
- Monitor project progress conducting regular site visits to evaluate quality adherence to timelines and client satisfaction.
- Resolve any operational challenges working collaboratively with division managers and team leads to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Client Relationship Management and Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients ensuring high levels of satisfaction and promoting repeat business.
- Actively network within the community and participate in relevant business organizations to increase visibility and build relationships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities focusing on expanding the company s client base and securing longterm maintenance contracts.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategic initiatives and marketing plans to enhance company visibility and brand.
- Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across divisions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Lead mentor and motivate team members to achieve high performance and professional growth.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations quality standards and environmental guidelines across all operations.
- Financial Management
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage budgets monitor costs and analyze financial performance for each project.
- Identify costsaving opportunities and implement best practices to improve profitability.
- Prepare reports for senior management on project progress financial performance and operational metrics as requested.
Requirements
Landscape Management or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management within the landscaping and construction/ maintenance industry.
Strong background in project management estimating business development and client relationship management.
Extensive experience in managing successful departments and operational financial performance.
Experience in business development and account acquisitions.
Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships and network effectively within business communities to develop new business.
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Aspire or the like (ERP CRM etc.).
