Job Description

Are you a safety professional with a strong commitment to proactive safety practices and a proven track record in mine site operations Join our team as a Safety Manager and drive a safetyfirst culture while delivering exceptional client satisfaction.

Your Role:

  • Act as the key point of contact for client interaction ensuring satisfaction by delivering exceptional safety adherence and operational excellence.
  • Inspire a team of 4 safety professionals with two safety advisors on each swing to maintain seamless support and site coverage.
  • Lead and manage HST services driving strategy and operational excellence across health safety and training initiatives.
  • Oversee measure review and improve proactive safety programs for a crew of 80 focusing on lead indicators to foster continuous improvement in lag results.
  • Mentor and guide your team by setting clear objectives and providing resources to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Implement and champion innovative safety initiatives that align with both client expectations and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with local national and industry health and safety regulations keeping current on any regulatory changes within our business the client and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide training and support to employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Accurately observing understanding and acting on nonconformances whilst mentoring and demonstrating behaviours that build effective and professional working relationships.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance indicators working towards continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate and participate in ICAM based incident investigations.
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks and safety training.
  • Identify hazards assess risks and implement control measures.
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of HSEQ Management Plans standards and procedures.

About You:

  • Experience: Extensive onsite safety management experience preferably with a contractor in mining operations.
  • Qualifications: Hold recognised safety qualifications and have an unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to manage teams drive safety programs and collaborate with clients and work crews to achieve mutual success.
  • References: Referees from prior roles in safety from either your leaders in safety or those you supported in production from your team or clients attesting to your expertise and professionalism.
  • Work Preference: Seeking a fulltime opportunity to make a lasting impact in a dynamic mining environment.
  • Your Location: Ideally this will be someone who lives locally looking for 5:2 or 4:3 that can commute daily or DIDO.
