The General Manager will lead and oversee the strategic direction operational efficiency and overall performance of the Sport division ensuring alignment with overarching business strategy. This role entails formulating and executing retail strategies driving sales growth and optimizing profitability across all sportsrelated business units. Additionally the General Manager will foster collaboration and synergy with other divisions including Warehouse & Logistics Home Division Wholesale & Sport Retail and the Apparel Design Company to enhance overall organizational effectiveness and achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to company's overall business strategy and plan.
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the retail strategy to achieve targeted performance and drive consistent sales and profit growth.
- Develop annual divisional goals and budget incorporating input from Business Units.
Retail Operations Management:
- Set and enforce standards of retail execution and visual merchandising to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Review store proposition and performance adjusting categories to align with market conditions.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures across all Sports Business Units.
Warehouse & Logistics:
- Collaborate with leadership to optimize warehouse and logistics operations for efficient inventory management and distribution.
- Ensure seamless coordination between the sports division and Canis to streamline supply chain processes and minimize lead times.
Home Division:
- Coordinate with the Home Division to align retail strategies and promotional activities to maximize crossselling opportunities and enhance customer engagement.
- Collaborate on joint marketing initiatives and events to drive foot traffic and sales across both sports and home categories..
Sport Retail:
- Work closely with the Wholesale & Sport Retail department to develop collaborative sales strategies and initiatives to grow wholesale accounts and retail sales channels.
- Provide input on product assortment and pricing strategies to optimize sales and margins across wholesale and retail channels.
- Monitor wholesale performance and provide guidance on areas for improvement such as inventory management and sales forecasting.
Apparel Design Company:
- Partner with the apparel design company to develop exclusive sportswear collections and collaborations that resonate with target customers and enhance brand appeal.
- Provide feedback and guidance on product design features and pricing to align with market trends and customer preferences.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar field
- Preferably with Master’s in business administration with a specialization in sales retail operations marketing or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of retail / FMCG experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in multisite retail management in a top management position with solid exposure in managing the whole P&L preferably gained from sports retail products
