Job Description

Position Overview:

The Director/ VP of Business Development is a pivotal leadership role responsible for creating and executing strategies to drive revenue growth and market penetration in the staffing and recruitment industry. This individual will spearhead client acquisition initiatives foster longterm client relationships and ensure the delivery of innovative workforce solutions tailored to client needs. The role also entails building and managing highperforming sales and business development teams across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the staffing industry in India a robust professional network and the ability to drive business transformation in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Business Planning:

  • Develop and implement longterm business development strategies to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Design gotomarket strategies for new services geographies and industry verticals.
  • Create business forecasts market insights and competitive analyses to inform decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align business development strategies with organizational goals.

2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Building:

  • Identify and target key accounts across industries such as IT BFSI Telecom Healthcare Manufacturing and Retail.
  • Build a pipeline of potential clients by leveraging existing relationships and prospecting new opportunities.
  • Deliver tailored staffing solutions (temporary permanent projectbased and RPO) to meet client workforce needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Csuite executives and HR leaders ensuring exceptional client service.

3. Sales Leadership & Team Management:

  • Recruit develop and manage a highperforming sales and business development team.
  • Set clear objectives provide ongoing coaching and evaluate team performance against KPIs.
  • Inspire a resultsdriven culture through leadership motivation and mentoring.
  • Ensure team alignment with organizational vision and strategic goals.

4. Revenue Growth & Profitability:

  • Take full ownership of sales targets revenue generation and profit margins.
  • Lead pricing strategies and contract negotiations to maximize business value.
  • Monitor revenue streams identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Explore upselling and crossselling opportunities within existing client accounts.

5. Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate with recruitment and delivery teams to ensure timely fulfilment of client staffing requirements.
  • Optimize workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement tools to track business development activities and measure ROI.

6. Brand Development & Industry Representation:

  • Represent the organization at industry events trade shows and conferences to build brand visibility.
  • Build thought leadership through presentations panel discussions and content contributions.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the staffing ecosystem (e.g. vendors industry bodies).

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Sales Marketing or a related field.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in business development within the staffing and recruitment industry.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling successful business units in staffing or workforce solutions.
  • Experience working across diverse industry sectors in India.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of staffing services including permanent temporary contracttohire and managed services models.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with senior decisionmakers (CXOs HR Leaders).
  • Exceptional leadership and people management abilities including crossfunctional team collaboration.
  • Datadriven decisionmaking and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance and legal requirements related to staffing in India.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Revenue and profitability growth across defined regions or industries.
  • Number of new client acquisitions and successful account renewals.
  • Client satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Team performance and retention metrics.
  • Market share growth and penetration into new verticals or geographies.
