Job Description
Youll be part of a specialized program designed to provide intensive assistance in communication social skills and behavior management. Each student benefits from a highly individualized approach with academic instruction tailored through alternate or modified curricula to address their unique learning needs. The smaller class sizes foster targeted interventions and close collaboration enabling meaningful progress for every student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student abilities and growth through regular assessments.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and IEP goals updating as necessary.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learning requirements.
- Offer emotional and social guidance to foster a positive inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Establish a structured supportive classroom environment that nurtures student growth.
- Design and deliver IEPs tailored to individual student needs ensuring personalized support.
- Collaborate with general education teachers specialists and family members to support each student s educational journey.
Requirements
- Must hold an Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
- Demonstrated experience as an SPED Teacher or in a similar role
- Experience working with students from diverse learning backgrounds
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution (Master s in Special Education or related field preferred)
