Greenpeace Mexico is an independent environmental organization that is part of the global Greenpeace network. Its mission is to protect and conserve the environment promoting solutions to the problems faced by ecosystems and biodiversity. Through research awareness campaigns and direct action Greenpeace Mexico works to create a positive change in societys relationship with nature. Greenpeace is an environmental organization that exists because the planet and its ecosystems need someone to defend them. We work to end environmental abuses in 55 countries. In Mexico we have been denouncing and confronting governments companies and projects that harm the environment for 30 years.
Greenpeace Mexico has made a significant impact on environmental protection over three decades of work. During this time it has carried out more than 500 awareness and direct action campaigns generating environmental consciousness that has reached millions of people. The organization has influenced public policies securing commitments from governments and companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions protect natural areas and eliminate the use of singleuse plastics. Additionally its work has contributed to the conservation of over 10 million hectares of forests and protected marine areas in Mexico. Through citizen mobilization Greenpeace has successfully pressured the halt of several industrial projects that threatened the countrys biodiversity demonstrating that collective action has the power to bring about real changes in environmental protection..
Leading the organization in its mission to defend the environment and promote a global shift in the way humanity interacts with nature. This position is key to guiding strategy strengthening the organizations presence in the country and ensuring the achievement of its objectives in the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity. A crucial aspect of this role is fundraising as Greenpeace is an independent organization that does not accept funding from governments or corporations making financing through individual donations foundations and other allies essential for its operations. The Executive Director must ensure that Greenpeace Mexico has the necessary resources to carry out its campaigns research and direct actions enabling the organization to remain a relevant actor in the fight for a more just and sustainable planet. Additionally this position involves strengthening strategic relationships with allies and donors while maintaining the transparency and trust that characterize the organization.
Strategic Leadership: Define guides and executes the vision and global strategy of Greenpeace Mexico ensuring alignment with the international goals of the organization. Responsible for ensuring that the organizations actions are centered on environmental defense aiming to create sustainable and transformative change.
Team Management and Coordination: Lead the Greenpeace Mexico team promoting a collaborative and highperformance work environment. Ensure that human resources are aligned with organizational objectives fostering professional development and team wellbeing.
Fundraising: Develop and implement fundraising strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of Greenpeace Mexico. This involves identifying funding opportunities managing fundraising campaigns establishing partnerships with individuals and organizations and ensuring resources are available for the organizations campaigns.
Institutional Relations and Partnerships: Represent Greenpeace Mexico to various institutions such as governments companies international bodies and strategic allies. Establish key relationships to influence public policies and corporate actions that positively impact the environment.
Communication and Visibility: Ensure effective communication with the public media and communities. Oversee communication public relations and marketing strategies to increase the organizations visibility and strengthen its public image promoting Greenpeaces campaigns.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the execution of projects and campaigns ensuring that established objectives are met. Evaluate the impact of actions and adjust strategies as necessary to maximize results and improve the effectiveness of initiatives.
Financial Management: Manage Greenpeace Mexicos financial resources responsibly and transparently. Control the budget and ensure that raised funds are used efficiently to support the organizations campaigns and activities ensuring longterm sustainability.
Defense of Independence and Transparency Principles: Ensure Greenpeace Mexico maintains its political and corporate independence operating ethically and transparently. Defend the principles of social and environmental justice in all areas of the organizations operations.
Innovation and Adaptation: Identify new opportunities for action in response to emerging environmental challenges. Adapt Greenpeace Mexicos strategy to stay at the forefront of environmental defense implementing innovative approaches to address global and local issues.
Adaptation to Political Social and Economic Context: Maintain a deep understanding of Mexicos socioeconomic and political context. Ensure the organization positions itself strategically in this environment adapting its actions to changing circumstances always with a focus on environmental justice and sustainability.
Effective Leadership and Coordination: Identify critical areas within the organization that require improved coordination especially in campaigns and projects. Ensure teams work in alignment maximizing fundraising opportunities and optimizing campaign results.
Development of Administrative and Logistical Skills: While not requiring a strictly administrative focus the director should possess sufficient administrative skills to manage Greenpeace Mexicos resources effectively. This includes handling economic logistical and operational aspects optimizing efficiency in campaign and project execution.
Analysis and Management of Indicators: Develop establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the progress of campaigns and the financial health of the organization. These indicators should guide strategic decisionmaking adjusting actions as needed to ensure the organizations success and sustainability.
Studies
Bachelors degree in natural or social sciences.
Masters degree in natural or social sciences or equivalent experience.
Diploma in administrative matters or equivalent experience.
Experience
At least 10 years of experience in senior management roles preferably in nonprofit social or environmental organizations. This experience should include responsibilities in strategic decisionmaking managing multidisciplinary teams organizational development and fundraising.

Experience supervising projects and monitoring to ensure objectives are met.
Administrative knowledge and experience in organizations or civil associations.

Advanced English and Spanish proficiency.
Experience in fundraising including fostering Major Donor relations. Proven experience of business planning and implementation (including financial management of budgets above 30m $MX).
