Our client is a globally recognized leader in delivering trusted financial news data and analysis to professionals and organizations worldwide empowering them to make informed decisions. They are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Barcelona to be part of their Data Science & Analytics team which specializes in developing and implementing cuttingedge AI ML and data science solutions.
Tasks
- Design and develop robust database and machine learning (ML) architectures to manage and process large data volumes effectively and operationalize complex ML models
- Develop and optimize automated data pipelines using SQL and Python ensuring seamless integration of data from diverse sources
- Create and maintain backend integrations between BI tools and data sources to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities code using AWS and CI/CD pipelines and support AI ML and analytics solutions
- Lead and contribute to an Agile team environment mentoring and training team members to foster professional growth and collaboration
Requirements
- Full professional level of English
- Degree in computer science a related technical field or equivalent professional experience
- 4 years of handson experience in data management technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server Postgres and Snowflake
- Proficiency in advanced SQL coding and data modeling for system integration and optimization
- Experience developing with Python or PySpark for ML processing data analysis and automation
- Skilled in creating visualizations and dashboards using BI tools like Power BI Tableau or Looker
- Strong ability to write SQL queries to investigate source data and troubleshoot datarelated issues
- Working knowledge of: cloud data technologies and architecture; Big Data tools and technologies such as Spark and AWS EMR; building CI/CD pipelines for code deployment
- A critical thinker with a natural curiosity for learning and a passion for solving complex problems
- A highly analytical and organized individual who excels at managing competing priorities independently
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with strong time management and structured development practices
