Job Description
We are looking for a phonetician to help process language data for texttospeech technology. The ideal candidate has experience with phonemic transcriptions speech data evaluation and International Phonetic Association (IPA). The candidate would be expected to work with our texttospeech research team to build the base phonetic library and ensure language consistency in the synthetic speech models.
Responsibilities:
- Review and produce highly accurate word spelling and phonemic transcriptions.
- Handle data transfers between internal and external tools and curate audio text and spectrograms for texttospeech recording sessions.
- Conduct quality analysis of voice recordings done by voice actors for the texttospeech system to ensure consistency of pronunciation and prosody.
- Work on text normalization to map symbols to words in the dictionary.
- Index pronunciations on a database providing transcriptions in an inhouse phonetic spelling system and in the alphabet of the International Phonetic Association (IPA).
- Builds lists of phonetically balanced sentences of TTS systems to synthesize speech.
- Work on large phonetic coverage for data collection of TTS.
- Work on speech waveform for data annotations for TTS.
