JOB SUMMARY
The Workshop Manager oversees all activities within the workshop ensuring optimal functionality timely repair and maintenance of equipment and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires expertise in heavy equipment management and team leadership to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan schedule and monitor all workshop activities to ensure timely repair and maintenance of heavy equipment (e.g. trucks Caterpillar machinery).
- Supervise diagnostic procedures ensuring accurate identification and resolution of mechanical issues.
- Lead and train workshop staff to maintain high technical performance and safety standards.
- Manage procurement and inventory of spare parts tools and workshop consumables.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with local and international workshop safety regulations and standards.
- Liaise with project managers and clients to prioritize and address equipmentrelated needs.
- Oversee workshop budget and optimize resources allocation for cost efficiency.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for workshop activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate warranty claims and liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for specialized repairs.
- Resolve escalated technical and operational challenges in the workshop.
- Foster collaborative and efficient work environment among workshop staff.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 15 years of experience in workshop management for heavy equipment.
- COREN certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software for trucks and Caterpillar machinery.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
