Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce a Health Safety and Environment Program
- Oversee regional projects to ensure project deliverables are on time within budget and to the desired quality level.
- Biweekly review and enforcement of employee billable hours %
- In consultation with Human Resources and Resource Manager participate in the recruiting process and employee retention initiatives.
- Participate in business improvement opportunities/ initiatives at both the regional and company level.
- Review workplans resources (time money personal equipment etc.) required to complete the project and communicate to regional and general manager.
- Review quality of work completed with project team on a regular basis to ensure project standards are met.
- Review the project schedule with management and other staff that will be affected by project activities identify revisions as required to ensure successful completion.
- Client management and retention.
- Participate in Business Development activities identify new opportunities complete quotes and proposals for existing clients and communicate with the Business Development VP.

About the Opportunity Our Client is currently seeking a Senior Biologist to join the team. Preference is for candidates to be based out of Fort St James, Fort St John, and Prince George, BC. However, we will consider candidates that reside outside of these areas. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading and joining field teams in various disciplines (wildlife, birds, fish, aquatic habitat, water quality, vegetation, soils, wetlands, environmental monitoring, sediment, and erosion control) Contributing to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals. Assisting in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects such as transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas, etc. Senior level responsibilities could include Field Coordination and Project Management Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within corporate culture More About You To qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in Biology or related discipline with five years experience, and RPBio, PBiol, and/or P.Ag. designation or eligibility. Courses or certifications in the following areas would be considered assets: Electrofishing Certification (approved by WorkSafe BC) Fish identification Bird survey methodology and bird identification Amphibian salvage methodology and amphibian identification Erosion and Sediment Control Plant identification Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered: Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities (i.e., wildlife assessments, bird surveys, water quality, fisheries inventories/ salvage, environmental monitoring/inspection) Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and physically fit Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, environmental discipline leads, and First Nations Proficiency in the operation of field equipment is an asset Due to the nature of the role, you must have a valid Driver's License.
