Job Description
Our client is a prominent player in the oral care manufacturing industry known for its highquality toothpaste tube filling and toothbrush production. Due to ongoing expansion they seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee and optimize their production line operations ensuring that equipment performs efficiently while meeting quality and regulatory standards.
Job Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design installation and optimization of production lines for toothpaste tube filling and toothbrush manufacturing equipment
- Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to maintain seamless and efficient processes.
- Serve as the main technical contact addressing client needs and ensuring machinery operates to client specifications.
- Oversee the commissioning maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems used in oral care production.
- Provide expert guidance on equipment operations and maintenance to ensure high efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as maintenance procedures operating instructions and troubleshooting guides.
- Manage project timelines and budgets ensuring deliverables are met promptly and within financial constraints.
- Ensure that production meets industry standards safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct analyses on any mechanical failures or down times implementing preventive measures to improve equipment reliability.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in the operation and maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master s degree preferred).
- 810 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oral care industry focusing on toothpaste tube filling or toothbrush production.
- Strong experience in the design maintenance and optimization of mechanical systems in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks) and mechanical simulation tools.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities with a clientfocused approach to technical challenges.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.
- Strong project management skills including experience managing multiple projects.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the FMCG industry. Knowledge of marketing finance Strong analytical and financial modelling skills. Knowledge of accounting and financial software. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
Education
B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or any related field.( Professional qualifications are an added advantage)
