Summary:
The ideal candidate will have 4 years as an Insurance Defense Attorney. You will work closely with the lead shareholder to handle a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters. To be successful possessing skills and attributes necessary to work within a team think independently and have personal skills to interface with clients opposing counsel and the judiciary would be necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire legal process from investigation and discovery through trial prep and court proceedings.
- Work cases through including taking depositions oral arguments and hearing attendance negotiating settlements reporting to clients etc.
- Attend court hearings mediations arbitrations and negotiations
- Research applicable laws and findings to develop appropriate legal strategies.
- Examine video documentary and physical evidence.
- Take depositions and respond to discovery requests.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
- Preparation of detailed case reports and summaries
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years experience in insurance defense
- Candidate must be able to work independently with strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize.
- Juris Doctor (J.D) degree
- Admission to the Texas State Bar
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in legal research and writing
