Our client a dynamic and modern independent insurance brokerage specializing in commercial personal lines and group benefits is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Service Manager to lead their Commercial Department Service Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage a small manageable book of business while primarily overseeing and coaching a team of 12 Account Managers. Commercial Insurance Service Manager Job Responsibilities
- Manage a small book of business to stay involved in daytoday operations including the full renewal process from prerenewal meetings to policy binding.
- Oversee and mentor a team of 12 Account Managers ensuring they meet their goals and provide excellent client service.
- Handle staffing responsibilities including hiring performance reviews disciplinary actions and team development.
- Conduct twiceweekly team huddles and monthly 1:1 meetings with team members to address goals performance and concerns.
- Manage the departments workflows including renewals endorsements risk analysis and preparing proposals for underwriting review.
- Step in to cover for Account Managers on leave and assist with Workers Compensation leads when needed.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures and modern technology platforms including Epic and Indio.
- Foster collaboration across departments by joining branch huddles and coordinating with other managers.
- Monitor and contribute to the agencys growth and book retention goals to earn performancebased bonuses.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in managing commercial insurance with at least 2 years in a team management or leadership role.
- Experience managing small to midmarket (Smiddle) commercial lines business.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on mentoring staff development and performance management.
- Proficient with Epic and Indio or similar agency management systems.
- Licensed in WA Property & Casualty; additional designations preferred.
- Comfortable with a detailoriented and structured work environment with the ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate service.
- Independent broker experience required; no carriers captives or direct writers.
- No job hoppers; stable work history is a must.
- Must be near one of the companys offices or in exceptional cases be an experienced candidate who requires no training and can work remotely.
