Responsibilities:
Research and Compliance: Conduct thorough research on federal state and local laws and regulations related to marketing and advertising. Ensure all marketing materials comply with legal standards.
Document Review: Review and analyze marketing content including advertisements social media posts and promotional materials to ensure compliance with legal guidelines.
Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to marketing and advertising compliance.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to the marketing team on legal requirements and best practices for advertising.
Regulatory Updates: Monitor and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting marketing and advertising. Communicate relevant updates to the legal and marketing teams.
Contract Management: Draft review and manage contracts related to marketing activities including agreements with advertising agencies and influencers.
Litigation Support: Assist in the preparation of legal documents and evidence for any litigation or regulatory inquiries related to marketing practices.
Record Keeping: Maintain organized records of all compliance activities including approvals audits and training sessions.
Qualifications:
Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies Legal Studies or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal with a focus on marketing regulations and advertising compliance preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal marketing regulations including FTC guidelines and other relevant marketing laws.
Skills: Excellent research analytical and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to nonlegal team members.
Technology: Proficiency in legal research tools and software as well as standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
