The company is a solution provider with its own SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite constellation.

It constructs and operates a constellation through the development and operation of small SAR satellites generating and providing data. Using proprietary data analysis capabilities we offer datadriven solutions to various global challenges.

The main business activities include the operation of a satellite constellation through the development manufacturing and launch of small SAR satellites and related systems. This encompasses the sale of acquired data and the development and sale of data analysis solutions.

Roles and Responsibility

The team is a software engineering team to create tooling that assists scientists with sharing algorithms with the rest of the company. These algorithms use satellite data and machine learning/image processing algorithms. We are looking for a full stack engineer to help us build a pipeline to run geoscience algorithms and models efficiently.

About Dept. and Unit:

This Department is responsible for developing models and algorithms which produce actionable insights for customers not specialized in the earth observation business. These algorithms may use multiple sources of data including our own satellite data. To that end we develop an analytics platform that enables the production of geoscience insights efficiently and easily. The execution team is a lean team that embraces a learn fast mentality and prioritizes useful solutions for difficult business problems. The role itself will be flexible in terms of both work experience and learning opportunities.

Responsibility:

• Design and build solutions to help scientists develop algorithms
• Build and maintain a cloud based software system to run algorithms automatically.
• Develop and analyze metrics to help drive our north star to develop and run geoscience algorithms.

Details of work:

• Design and develop a pipeline to run geoscience algorithms. Be responsible for all parts of this pipeline which spans all of the web stack
• Develop tools to improve efficiency of geoscience algorithm production from inception to productization. These tools serve both the producers (scientists) and the consumers (sales team)
• Crossfunctional collaboration with multiple stakeholders to develop a product.

Scope of change: Within the Ssme Department

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience building customerfacing cloudnative systems on one of the major cloud providers using Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience working with git
• Experience in designing and developing microservices
• Experience working with Linux based systems
• Experience in software development for internal use (requirement gathering designing programming and maintenance)
• preferred technical skills: python javascript golang vue react GCP APIs
• Experience in working in a team loosely following agile methodology
• Ability to communicate in English

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with flask jupyter notebooks containerized workloads developing tooling for VSCode Pythons poetry and Javascript.
• Experience with Kubeflow or ML training pipelines is a plus
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in handling GIS/Map data and services
• Ability to communicate in Japanese
• 5 years of python experience a plus

Annual Salary:JPY

• Based on experience ability and previous work experience
• Personnel evaluation system every 6 months

Hours: Flextime system

• Core time from 11:00 15:00
• 2 days off a week (weekends) including Japanese public holidays
• 10 days of paid time leave granted first year with an increment of 1 day every following year (ex. 11 days in the second year) up to a maximum in accordance with Japans labor laws.
