The company provides the No.1 ebook intermediary service in Japan with a market share of over 2200 publishers and over 150 ebookstores. In order to widely distribute digital content such as books and comics domestically and internationally we have mainly developed BtoB ebook intermediary systems that register digital content received from publishers and distribute it to ebookstores. The ebook market in Japan mainly comics will reach approximately 350 billion yen in 2019 and it is a market with great potential that continues to grow.

Our ebook intermediary system continues to be designed and developed based on the early ebook distribution business and in order to support the even greater growth of the ebook market in the future it will be essential to update the system to be able to withstand this growth. In order to contribute to the further development of the ebook market in the future it has decided to revamp its ebook distribution system.

To accelerate this project we are looking for engineers to join our development team.

    About the Product F

    F is an NFT marketplace provided by us primarily focusing on electronic book distribution. Utilizing blockchain technology as the foundation for NFTs (nonfungible tokens) it offers a service that allows users to acquire buy sell and gift digital content as well as view exclusive content within the app providing a broad range of enjoyment for users.

    One of the unique features of F is the NFT Digital Benefits. This initiative attaches digital content to printed publications circulated in bookstores across the country offering readers a new reading experience. It contributes to increasing the valueadded to publications as well as boosting sales (currently adopted by over 2.4 million publications).

    From a technical perspective we develop and operate everything from the marketplace mechanism to the implementation of smart contracts and the integration of onchain and offchain. In addition to this blockchain technology (web3) we also value the system design and marketing concepts of what is referred to as web2 aiming to build a service that users can enjoy and use comfortably.

    We aims to revitalize the publishing and content industry including printed books by providing a system that benefits all stakeholders such as authors publishers bookstores and users. Going forward we plan to strengthen our approach not only in the publishing industry but across all industries with the aim of expanding our business.

    Job Description

    You will be entrusted with leading the overall backend development of FanTop and managing team members.

    (Backend Lead Responsibilities)

    As a candidate for the tech lead you will be expected to play a central role in the team engaging in the following tasks:

    • Maintenance and operation of web applications using Go and AWS
    • Streamlining release processes and refactoring
    • Monitoring workers and responding to alerts
    • Communicating with the business team and translating requirements into specifications
    • Developing new features

    To grow the product in the medium to long term we expect you to maintain a perspective on what is necessary to create value and a good user experience while ensuring code quality (maintainability and extensibility) does not decline as you actively contribute.

    (Management Responsibilities)

    You will be responsible for providing advice and leadership in the development/operation of 2 team members.

    • Progress management and code reviews for team members
    • Team operation to maximize team performance
    • Problemsolving and improvement of technical and organizational issues

Minimum Requirements

Conditions / Benefits

Employment type: Permanent

Location: Chiyodaku Tokyo (Head Office)

Annual Salary: 6.15M 10M JPY

The average overtime work: 14 hours per month. Overtime pay will be provided separately.

Hours: 10:00 19:00 (standard working hours: 8 hours)

  • Flexible working hours Start: 5:00 11:00

    End: 15:00 22:00

  • Core time (11:00 15:00)

However depending on the clients circumstances you may be required to work flexible hours as needed

  • Remote work: Available

Remote work is available except from the workdays determined by each team
