We are a growing team looking for an Operations Manager to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. The role is located in our Amsterdam office. Please note: This is a fulltime role with a 9 month contract (extendable).
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As an Operations Manager youll manage and optimize all aspects of your shippers & carriers daytoday operations. Youll be expected to drive high operational quality to generate customer satisfaction while steering your accounts profitability. Youll work closely with Account Managers and Carrier Growth Managers to optimize the existing business and support the implementation of additional opportunities.
This role requires you to have high organizational abilities strong communication and negotiation skills and an understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL WORK ON...
Operations management and customer service
- Be responsible for an account portfolio and manage daily operations from A to Z from registering scheduling executing shipments and managing the order settlement process.
- Be accountable for successfully covering your shippers orders not covered through dedication or marketplace. In case of coverage failure or lastminute shipments step in to find backup solutions.
- Be your shippers & carriers primary point of contact for any operational inquiries and ensure high customer availability and satisfaction.
- Handle all loadrelated communication with shippers and carriers (collecting/sharing truck details tracking shipments and providing status updates) proactively identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Track and manage transportation costs Accessorials Claims and other surcharges (Fuel toll extrakm...).
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Performance Management and Improvement
- Flag operational concerns and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent service quality
- Drive additional profitability through diligent Accessorial Management with shippers/carriers.
- Collaborate with your Account Managers in addressing operational and commercial challenges supporting them in assessing and implementing new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with Carrier Growth Managers to report capacity bottlenecks and optimize your shippers booking channel mix (Dedication vs. Marketplace).
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 02 years experience in road freight logistics (Customer Service Dispatching Operations Management or other roles in supply chain operations)
- Strong doer mindset with a proactive approach to getting things done
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
- Indepth knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen appetence for digitalization new technologies and data
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong proficiency in English; Skills in another language are a big plus
