Job Description

Our highperforming ambitious coeducational secondary school seeks a qualified and passionate Head of Boys PE to join our dynamic Physical Education department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of boys physical education within a thriving school community.

About the Role:

As Head of Boys PE you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Boys PE program aligning with the schools overall vision and educational goals.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging challenging and promotes lifelong participation in physical activity for all boys.
  • Ensure the Boys PE program complies with national curriculum requirements and incorporates innovative teaching methods.
  • Lead by example teaching highquality PE lessons that foster a love of sport and physical activity amongst boys of all abilities.
  • Oversee the work of PE teachers within the Boys program providing guidance support and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Boys PE program implementing improvements based on data analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with students staff and parents fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the Boys PE program.
  • Promote the importance of physical and mental wellbeing amongst boys encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Champion equal opportunities for all boys to participate and excel in PE and sports.
  • Oversee and develop a range of extracurricular sports clubs and activities for boys catering to diverse interests and abilities.
  • Encourage participation in interschool competitions and external sporting events providing guidance and support to student athletes.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments within the school to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A highly qualified and experienced PE teacher with a proven track record of success in leading and developing PE programs particularly for boys.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of physical activity and sport in young men.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and empower staff.
  • Outstanding communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity within PE and sports.
  • Ability to utilize data to monitor progress and implement improvements within the program.
  • Enthusiasm for working within a dynamic and ambitious school environment.
