Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will support both greenfield and brownfield projects for the topsides of offshore oil and gas production facilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive equipment specifications data sheets load lists and technical reports for projects.
- Perform electrical sizing and load calculations and assist with selecting appropriate components.
- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement solutions for complex electrical systems.
- Review check and professionally stamp Area Classification Drawings and OneLine Diagrams.
- Create wiring diagrams (with CAD work performed by others) and ensure accuracy across designs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients suppliers procurement and other engineering disciplines.
- Redline drawings and compile installation work packages for construction teams.
- Generate technical bid evaluations provide recommendations and review vendor data submissions.
- Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) projects to ensure seamless transitions in project phases.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 8 years of electrical engineering experience with a focus on offshore topsides (brownfield experience is highly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (related technical degrees may be considered).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with Texas registration.
- Strong working knowledge of SKM Powertools and industryspecific standards such as API IEEE NFPA NEC USCG and Class Society codes.
- Handson experience with motor control centers switchgear configurations and offshore cabling systems.
- Familiarity with oil & gas production utility systems and the ability to interpret P&IDs.
- Proficiency in reviewing and ensuring compliance with regulatory codes and standards.
- THUET (Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems in offshore oil & gas production environments including construction commissioning operations and maintenance.
- Experience with Gulf of Mexico fixed production platforms and floating facilities.
- Expertise in power generators (gas turbine gas/diesel enginedriven) transformers and medium voltage systems.
- Familiarity with IEC Standards and Luxicon lighting software.
- Proven track record with arcflash short circuit motor starting and load flow/sharing calculations.
- Previous exposure to VFDs harmonic analysis and conducting electrical studies for system safety.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Codes of Federal Regulations for electrical design and safety.
- Experience managing scopes of work for I&E hookup contractors.
Additional Information:
- This is an inoffice position with occasional travel to offshore platforms client offices or vendor locations as needed.
- The role reports directly to the Department Manager and Project Management team.
