Requirements

Core Skills:

  1. INV (Inventory Management):

    • Role: Managing and tracking inventory levels ensuring optimal stock availability and minimizing costs associated with excess inventory.
    • Skills Required:
      • Understanding of inventory control methods (such as FIFO LIFO).
      • Experience with inventory forecasting safety stock and reorder point calculations.
      • Proficiency in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to handle stock movements material availability and purchase requisitions.
      • Familiarity with cycle counting physical inventory audits and variance reporting.
  2. BOM (Bill of Materials):

    • Role: Handling the complete hierarchy and structure of materials required for manufacturing a product.
    • Skills Required:
      • Expertise in creating and managing BOMs in an ERP or MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system.
      • Understanding different types of BOMs (singlelevel multilevel phantom BOMs).
      • Ability to manage revisions in BOM ensuring accuracy in components quantities and subassemblies.
      • Experience in costing and price rollups through BOM for financial planning and analysis.
  3. WIP (Work in Progress):

    • Role: Monitoring and controlling production processes and work orders to track progress and ensure efficient manufacturing flow.
    • Skills Required:
      • Proficiency in managing and tracking WIP within production cycles.
      • Understanding the relationship between WIP and inventory including labor and overhead cost allocation.
      • Ability to work with shop floor control systems to monitor production statuses order completions and bottleneck identification.
      • Familiarity with production scheduling routing and work order management to optimize throughput.

Additional Skills:

  1. PDH (Product Data Hub):

    • Role: Centralized management of product data ensuring consistency and synchronization across the organization.
    • Skills Required:
      • Proficiency in maintaining a single source of truth for product information.
      • Experience with PDH systems to manage product lifecycle data from design through manufacturing and support.
      • Ability to integrate PDH systems with other enterprise applications (ERP PLM).
      • Strong data governance and quality assurance for product records ensuring accurate product launches.
  2. PIM (Product Information Management):

    • Role: Managing productrelated information to support multiple business functions like marketing sales and supply chain.
    • Skills Required:
      • Expertise in collecting managing and enriching product data including technical specs images and pricing.
      • Experience with PIM software to maintain consistent and uptodate product information across channels.
      • Familiarity with catalog management product classifications and taxonomies.
      • Understanding of how PIM integrates with ecommerce platforms ERP systems and content management systems (CMS).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

A candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes especially related to inventory management production workflows and bill of materials with added experience in centralized product data management and information handling. Experience with ERP MRP and PIM systems is essential along with the ability to optimize these functions for better efficiency data accuracy and operational performance.

This mix of core manufacturing and additional data management skills ensures an endtoend understanding of product creation management and distribution within a manufacturing environment.
