Any submittals to this req the candidate must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review. Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn MD. Selected candidate must be willing to work onsite at least 2 days a week.
Key Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of usercentered design principles; documenting user requirements; user needs/pain points; Interaction/Interface design experience utilizing usercentered methods; designing and conducting formative various user research tests
Position Description:
Derive business processes analyze user needs assist in requirements definition design browserbased interfaces and design and conduct usability testing
Elicit business goals and user needs from stakeholders
Facilitate customer discovery sessions
Create Conceptual Models Journey Maps Personas and Scenarios of Use
Create and refine screen prototypes
Document user requirements screen designs and design recommendations
Skills Requirements:
FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
Minimum of 6 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in UserCentered Methods and User Analysis
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)
These skills will help you succeed in this position:
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
Minimum of 6 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in UserCentered Methods and User Analysis
Minimum of 6 years of experience documenting user requirements screen designs and design recommendations
Minimum of 4 year of experience in designing and conducting formative usability tests in both formal and informal settings
Minimum of 4 year of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings
Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
Experience using Axure RP prototyping software
Experience with AdobeXD prototyping software
Experience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology
Understanding of responsive design
Prior experience supporting government agencies
Understanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding design
Hold additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
Education:
Bachelors degree with 7 years of experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
