As a member of the Civil team the Electrical Superintendent will utilize their expertise in electrical processes to provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various heavy civil projects which may include tunneling highways infrastructure earthworks and hydroelectric projects.
The Electrical Superintendent will report directly to the Project Manager/General Superintendent and will be responsible for the entire completion of construction projects.
As an Electrical Superintendent at EBC your responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious relationships of the onsite staff;
- Having thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract documents each subcontract the contract drawings specifications and addenda as it relates to the electrical aspects of the scope of work and to assist the Project Manager in the development of the onsite procedures related to such;
- Assisting the Project Manager in the development of the project schedule and work with the Project Manager to keep schedules updates and ensure the job meets the various milestones;
- Planning and reviewing the site construction program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures safety and environmental procedures staging plans equipment and manpower;
- Coordinating with directing and monitoring the Field Engineer/Coordinator inspection activities of the subcontractors suppliers and own forces;
- Coordinating with and directing when necessary the activities of the inspection agencies and to effect remedial actions if required;
- Establishing and retaining necessary communications between subcontractors consultants and clients;
- Providing daily reports of work done and labour and material employed to the Project Manager;
- Maintaining good relations and communications with all involved in the project including the public.
Requirements
- Related job experience of 5 years in Mechanical or Electrical construction working on heavy civil construction projects;
- Advanced skills in management negotiation communication and problem solving;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work;
- Knowledge of office management systems and administrative procedures;
- Basic math accounting and finance skills;
- Bilingual (an asset) but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
