Design for Equity: UX Designer for an MIT Startup Revolutionizing Cancer Screening
Position Overview:
As a UX Designer you will play a pivotal role in designing the user experience for a groundbreaking Smart Connected Capsule Product. This product is set to transform the field of gastrointestinal diagnostics making healthcare more accessible and equitable by offering a noninvasive solution for cancer screening and other medical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- UserCentered Design: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deeply understand the needs behaviors and preferences of the end users. Advocate for a usercentric approach to design throughout the product development process.
- UX Research: Plan and conduct user research including user interviews surveys and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions. Translate research findings into actionable design solutions.
- Information Architecture: Create intuitive and effective information structures and content hierarchies for the digital interfaces of the Smart Capsule Product.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Develop lowfidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design concepts. Iterate on designs based on user feedback and usability testing results.
- UI Design: Create highfidelity user interfaces that are visually appealing consistent and aligned with the brand identity. Ensure the user interface is accessible and usable for a broad audience.
- Interaction Design: Design and refine interactive elements including navigation systems buttons and user flows to optimize the overall user experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers engineers and clinical experts to ensure that user needs are met while adhering to technical constraints and regulatory requirements.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions analyze results and provide recommendations for improving the user experience.
- Accessibility: Ensure that the product is designed to be accessible to individuals with disabilities in compliance with accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation including design specifications style guides and user personas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Graphic Design HumanComputer Interaction User Experience Design or a related field.
- Proficiency in UX design software (e.g. Sketch Figma Adobe XD).
- Strong understanding of usability principles and user research methodologies.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g. WCAG).
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
