Are you passionate about quantitative analysis and eager to dive deep into the energy sector Join us as Trainee Quantitative Analysis!

Become part of the Axpo Trainee community. Collaborate with various divisions gain exciting and indepth insights into the world of energy and build up a group wide network. You work in three different teams exposed to a range of exiting projects involving mathematical modelling risk management and optimization. The perfect start for your future career!

The traineeship begins on 1st of April 2025 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.

What you will do:

  • Shape with us the future of energy! Applying your analytical skills using market news data and models.
  • Work with Python R SQL and Power BI to analyze data and build models and transform data to business insights.
  • Participate in various projects concerning new technologies price forecasting quantitative modelling risk management market trends as well as the development of energy related products.
  • Carry out research and introduce innovative approaches to our challenges.
  • Your assignments will take place at Core Market Trading and Market Risk one assignment is up to your choice it could potentially be in one of Axpos international hubs.

Profil & Fhigkeiten:

  • Masters degree in Mathematics Physics Engineering Quantitative Finance or Data Science (no more than 2 years of postgraduation professional experience).
  • Experience in Python R SQL and Power BI as well as statistics and data management is a plus.
  • Technical understanding of the energy market power plants and regulatory systems.
  • First working experience as an intern or student employee.
  • Fluent in English with German skills at B2 level or above.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and ability to communicate complex problems in simple terms.
  • Curious flexible and commercially minded.

About the Team:

You will become part of the 17th trainee generation. Meet regularly for several events whether its lunch or even power plant visits. Take advantage from our internal learning platforms courses and other opportunities to shape your skills and expand your network.

You will work in the office in Baden with the flexibility to work from home as well. The fixed traineeship salary is CHF 86000 per year including several attractive fringe benefits.
