This Client carries cosmetics fragrances nail products bath and body products beauty tools and hair care products.

Job Title: Claims Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • With oversite from Clients Enterprise Claims Manager this position is responsible for the administration of Workers Compensation General Liability Property Auto and Cargo claims for the company.
  • This includes evaluating liability analyzing coverage issues executing investigations discovery and working with third party administrators and outside attorneys to negotiate cost effective settlements.
  • The Position is also responsible for conducting claim audits/reviews identifying loss trends and proposing proactive and strategic crossfunctional risk mitigation efforts to reduce the Companys overall liability cost profile.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administrative oversite of Workers Compensation General Liability Property Auto and Cargo claims in partnership with Clients Third Party Administrator and Carriers.
  • Assist in managing the Workers Compensation and General Liability defense counsel litigation guidelines and assist in managing defense counsel performance across a multijurisdictional claims portfolio to properly manage legal expenses while consistently executing sound claim disposition strategies.
  • Manage strategic key performance indicators (KPI) with third party TPA and law firms and monitor compliance.
  • Manage and maintain store associates modified duty and return to work.
  • Supervise third party administration (TPA) WC and GL claim unit handling procedures and results including investigations discovery work deposition preparation and general administration and coordination with outside defense counsel firms and other involved parties as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate evaluation and approval of WC and GL claim reserves.
  • Provide responsive information to internal and external inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in claim review meetings with internal and external stakeholders covering overall WC and GL.
  • Maintain knowledge of new and existing regulations case law and court decisions which could affect claims handling procedures and resolution strategies.
  • Participate in Clients Safety Manager meetings related to General Liability Property Auto and Cargo claims providing input and strategic alternatives to control overall cost profile.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external continuing education related to liability insurance coverage litigation management regulatory reporting requirements etc. Ability to adjust to shifting priorities without significant loss in productivity
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Claims Specialist position will require general claims management knowledge to assist and cover in the absences of the Enterprise Claims Manager.
  • Identifies potential subrogation and tender claims to product manufacturers vendors and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
  • Minimum Work Experience 3 years of commercial General Liability Property Auto and Cargo claims experience with an Insurance Carrier TPA or Corporate Claims Department.
  • Experience with managing subrogation and tendering of claims.
  • Selfstarter who takes initiative to solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with law firms and third party administrators.
  • Must possess a high degree of organizational skills.
  • Strong business analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong computer skills particularly Excel Word and Power Point.
  • Knowledge and ability to use Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and convey information in an organized credible and concise fashion.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Capable of performing duties in both an independent and team setting.
  • Demonstrates high commitment to group goals.
  • Regularly acts to promote positive and productive working climate.
  • Basic understanding of actuarial reserving methods and reporting.
