Enterprise Architect - Technical Application Architect

Position Justification

• A Technical Architect for the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Public Health CDC grant would be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions to modernize MDHHS public health data systems.
• Technical Architect will collaborate closely with DMI Director Data Strategy Administrators and other Stakeholders within public Health Administration. This role is pivotal in achieving successful Data modernization.

Position Summary

This role would involve:

• Developing a Technical roadmap for data modernization that aligns with the CDCs vision and priorities.
• Architecting robust scalable and secure data systems that can handle the demands of modern public health surveillance.
• Driving innovative solutions to enhance data collection ysis and dissemination for better MDHHS public health decisionmaking.
• Providing technical guidance and support to MDHHS ensuring the effective use of modern data technologies.

S Descriptions

Required:

• A bachelors degree in computer science information technology software engineering or a related field .
• Proficiency in programming languages database management system design networking cloud services DevOps practices and cybersecurity measures.
• Handson experience in roles such as software developer systems yst or network engineer to build a technical foundation.
• Leadership and Communication: The ability to lead teams and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strategic Planning and Roadmapping: Ability to outline technological direction ess the impact of new technologies and ensure IT strategy aligns with business objectives.
• Proficiency in modeling and diagramming tools and odologies for designing IT systems.
• Experience in integrating various systems to create cohesive solutions that meet organizational needs.
• Knowledge of security protocols and measures to protect sensitive public health data.
• Familiarity with DevOps odologies to improve system deployment and operational efficiency.
• 8. Experience performing ysis designing doenting and implementation of organizations enterprise architecture structural framework to align IT strategy plans and systems; conducts impact ysis studies (Cloud infrastructure cloud networking design); and identifying improvements to technical problems and designing potential solutions.
• Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) information and ytics platforms and products (e.g. DataBricks Snowflake Microsoft Azure AWS Power BI Tableau etc.)
• Experience in public or government health industry.

Nice to have:

• A masters degree or higher education in specialized areas such as cloud computing cybersecurity or enterprise architecture is prefered.
• Certifications from recognized bodies like The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect validate ss and knowledge.
• Leadership in projects involving system architecture.
