Position: Safety Supervisor
Client: Engineering Firm Specialized in Power Systems
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Safety Supervisor to oversee and enforce safety protocols and standards across all field operations. This role involves developing safety programs ensuring compliance with industry regulations conducting safety training and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. The Safety Supervisor will work closely with field and shop technicians project managers and leadership teams to ensure a safe working environment and reduce risks ociated with electrical power systems operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and continuously improve the company s safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations including OSHA NFPA 70E and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites equipment and processes to identify and address potential hazards.
- Lead safety training sessions for field and shop technicians including electrical safety proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
- Oversee the Job Hazard ysis (JHA) process review daily JHA submissions and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Investigate workplace incidents accidents and nearmisses and develop Root Cause ysis (RCA) to identify corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain safety records including reports on accidents incidents training and audits.
- Ensure the proper implementation of lockout/tagout procedures and safety measures in line with industry best practices.
- Provide leadership in fostering a culture of safety encouraging open communication and ensuring that safety standards are followed by all employees.
- Recommend candidates for safety awards and recognition for adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Field Supervisors to address and resolve safety concerns on active job sites.
- Stay uptodate with the latest industry safety regulations technologies and best practices to continuously improve safety programs.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety culture across the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Health Engineering or a related field or equivalent technical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a safety supervisory role within the electrical power or construction industry.
- Indepth knowledge of OSHA NFPA 70E and industryspecific safety regulations and standards.
- Proven ability to lead safety programs and conduct safety audits training and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication ss with the ability to deliver safety training and enforce safety protocols effectively.
- Strong organizational and leadership ss with a proactive approach to problemsolving and safety enforcement.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA 30Hour Training are preferred.
- NETA or NICET Certification is an advantage.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and low to medium voltage equipment (substations switchgears transformers etc.) is a plus.

Required: - 15+ years of experience in information technology (GCP), with a focus on infrastructure and networking. - 10+ years of experience as an infrastructure architect, preferably in manufacturing environments. - Demonstrated expertise in interacting with business sectors at a strategic level (Directors, VPs, and senior management). - Ability to occasionally travel to the various offices of our client (Canada, US). - Permanent resident or Canadian Citizen - Bilingualism (spoken/written) in French and English. et: - Knowledge of enterprise architecture odologies
Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent from a technical school.
