Job Details: We are seeking a proactive and detailoriented Safety Technician to support the implementation of safety protocols on electrical construction sites conduct regular safety inspections monitor compliance with safety regulations and assist in incident investigations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of handson experience in commercial electrical work and a valid OSHA 30 certification. This position is critical in supporting a safe and efficient work environment for our team members.
Reporting Relationship(s): Director of Safety
Responsibilities:
- Perform bootsontheground safety oversight by identifying and correcting job site hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Assist in the implementation and compliance of sitespecific and company safety policies.
- Assist in the creation of job hazard analysis (JHA) and personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments.
- Review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work practices to identify safety concerns and support the Safety Lead in conducting team safety meetings.
- Conduct job sitespecific safety audits using inspection forms to ensure adherence to safe work practices such as proper PPE usage minimizing trip hazards and ensuring fall protection.
- Respond to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) events in the field gathering preliminary details documents and photos to support the Safety Lead in safeguard analysis and corrective action.
- Perform environmental compliance audits as needed.
- Ensure prompt notification and corrective actions for unsafe conditions found on the job site and track EHS action items.
- Assist in accident and nearmiss investigations conducting root cause analysis when required in collaboration with the Regional Safety Lead and Superintendent.
- Organize file and maintain safety documentation (e.g. training records meeting minutes).
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local safety regulations.
Workplace/Schedule: The position is onsite with work locations that may be outdoors or indoors depending on the project. The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional overtime required based on project needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical construction experience.
- OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Ability to respond rapidly to employee health emergencies and activate emergency procedures.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local safety regulations.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.
- Excellent organizational analytical and attentiontodetail skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Teams PowerPoint etc.).
- Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and follow through on projects with minimal direction.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
