Rail Design Engineer Graduate

Summary:
The candidate will be involved in rail design calculations plan preparation specifications and quantity takeoffs.

General Responsibilities:

• Design horizontal and vertical alignments for rail tracks
• Design drainage systems to support rail projects
• Develop plan sets suitable for construction
• Obtain project information from other team members as directed
• Use templates to prepare draft memos and reports for an experienced engineer’s review
• Perform a variety of routine tasks to become familiar with the company’s programs staff and operating procedures
• Receive regular training to learn the design of freight rail projects
• Potential for field construction management and inspection activities
• Perform other duties as igned

Required Education/Licenses:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required
• Eligible to take the PE Exam within the next 3 years

Required Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Strong communication ss
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Rail experience a plus
• Experience with Microstation
