Job Description
As an istant Manager Naval Architect you will have to work in close coordination with the design team and client. Your Role and Responsibilities will be:
- Liaise with client and /or cl for basic design of ships and boats.
- Prepare preliminary GA and technical specifications.
- Should be able to do Naval Architecture calculations covering weight ility scantling resistance & powering propulsion tonnage hydrostatics etc.
- Should be able to do cl approval plans and liaise with cl for all projects.
- Knowledge of cl rules IMO and flag state authority regulations (SOLAS Lloyds DNV ABS IRS etc.).
- Should have good ss in Hull surface fairing.
- Knowledge of any Naval Architectural software like MAXSURF or DELFT ship or NAPA or GHS is a must.
- Knowledge in finite element ysis for structural design.
- Knowledge in CFD for hydrodynamic ysis.
- Mechanical and offshore structures background with experience of structural ysis and use of FEA software is desirable.
- Preparation of technical reports from ociated ysis that will form part of the design packages.
- Should ensure the quality of work is maintained and delivery timelines met.
- Should have good engineering aptitude and problemsolving ss.
- ist and perform any R&D related tasks and responsibilities.
- Should be able to lead and guide a team of Naval Architects.
- ist Business Development team in presales.
- Willing to relocate on client site either domestic or International on short notice.
- Any other ociated task or responsibilities igned from time to time by the organization
Job Requirements:
- You hold a degree in Naval Architecture or Masters in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering/Ocean Structures/ Ocean Technology with minimum relevant work experience of 1012 years.
- You have worked on basic design projects in ship design/shipbuilding/offshore.
- You have good communication ss and have minute attention to detail.
- You will be willing to continue to develop your technical knowledge and ss.
