The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for organizing and maintaining patient records within a healthcare facility. This role ensures that patient information is accurate uptodate and easily accessible for healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and file patient medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Retrieve and process requests for patient information from healthcare providers and authorized personnel.
- Input and update patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ensure the accuracy of data entry to maintain highquality patient records.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- ist in audits to ensure records meet legal and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; ociates degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in medical records or a healthcare administrative role is a plus.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ss.
