Job Description

Mailroom Clerk

Our client in the printing industry is seeking a Mailroom Clerk to handle mail and courier tasks at their professional office location. This is an onsite position and the candidate will be responsible for processing and distributing mail packages and various documents while maintaining a high standard of service and operational efficiency.

12month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

Receive sort and process incoming mail documents packages and supplies ensuring timely notification to recipients.
Record process and maintain logs of accountable mail and inbound packages.
Prepare outbound mail and packages for shipment using mail services such as postal freight air express and courier services.
Arrange alternative courier or shipping options to meet customer needs.
Ensure proper packaging standards for outgoing shipments and verify records for accuracy on incoming and outgoing shipments.
Operate mailroom equipment including inserters and postage meters ensuring smooth operation.
Perform quality checks on outbound mail to ensure postage accuracy and envelope integrity.
Conduct electronic mail distribution including opening preparing scanning and distributing electronic correspondence.
Adhere to mailroom security procedures including handling of confidential mail.
Conduct scheduled mail runs to pick up and deliver items.
Monitor track and resolve mailrelated issues or concerns.
Replenish and manage mailroom supplies as needed.
Suggest workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Perform regular lifting (up to 50 lbs) and remain on your feet for 80% of the time.
Review printed policies to ensure accuracy and that all documents are delivered to the intended recipient.

What you will need to succeed:

High School diploma or equivalent.
6 months to 1 year experience in a professional working environment.
1 to 2 years of experience in a mailroom environment.
Experience in clientfacing roles.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service abilities.
Ability to read write and follow instructions in English.
Intermediate computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to operate highvolume mail and insertion equipment.
Selfmotivated and able to work well in a team setting.
Punctuality and reliability.
