Company Overview:
We are a leading company in the solar industry specializing in the design installation and maintenance of solar power systems. As part of our continued growth and commitment to excellence we are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager Procurement to lead our procurement operations and ensure efficient sourcing of materials for our solar projects.
Position: General Manager Procurement
Experience: Minimum 1015 years
Location: Ghaziabad
Role and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
o Lead and manage the procurement team providing guidance and developing strategic sourcing and procurement plans to align with the company s goals.
o Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that ensure cost efficiency quality assurance and timely delivery for solar EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) projects.
- Supplier and Vendor Management:
o Identify assess and develop relationships with key suppliers and vendors for solar equipment and components on a global scale.
o Oversee the negotiation of contracts terms and pricing with suppliers ensuring longterm partnerships that provide competitive advantage.
o Monitor supplier performance evaluate risk and ensure compliance with contractual terms while ensuring the availability of highquality solar components.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration:
o Work closely with engineering project management logistics & finance teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project requirements & financial objectives.
o Support the project team in understanding the technical requirements & ensuring the timely procurement of key materials like inverters cables solar panels etc.
- Innovation and Process Improvement:
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function including automation digital procurement tools and process optimization.
o Stay updated on the latest trends in solar procurement including technological advancements and industry best practices and introduce innovative sourcing methods.
- Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
o Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards including environmental and safety standards.
o Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate procurement records contracts and reports for audit and analysis.
- Team Management and Development:
o Lead mentor and develop the procurement team fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
o Provide training and development opportunities for team members to ensure continuous professional growth and expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1015 years of experience in procurement with a strong focus on solar or renewable energy industry.
- Proven experience in leading largescale procurement operations preferably in the solar EPC sector.
- Strong knowledge of solar equipment components and the global supply chain particularly for inverters cables and other critical electrical components.
- Excellent negotiation vendor management and contract management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans.
- Familiarity with solar EPC processes and industry standards with strong technical knowledge of solar components.
- Ability to lead crossfunctional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
