Job Description
Veteran Hiring Solutions is recruiting qualified veterans for a client that is a world leader in refractory operations with the largest number of global operations in its industry. This newly acquired site west of Cleveland on Lake Erie is expanding and we are seeking a Production and Quality Leader to build out and lead a new production line. There are currently 10 15 team members at the facility and it will grow.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a small (currently two direct reports) but experienced team and oversee the launch of new production processes while ensuring high safety and quality standards.
This role was filled by Veteran Hiring Solutions a few months ago and the veteran was already promoted. There is lots of room to grow here!
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Line Development: Oversee the buildout of a new production line mirroring existing operations from a sister plant then implement process improvements.
- Safety and Quality Control: Develop and enforce safety and quality processes to ensure a high standard of operations on the new production line.
- Team Expansion: Lead and grow the team from two direct reports to over 10 employees within 18 months ensuring proper training and development of new staff.
- Leadership Role: Start with two direct reports growing to 10 within 18 months with clear leadership growth opportunities.
- Collaboration with Sister Plant: Partner with a sister facility already producing the same product line ensuring knowledge transfer and process optimization.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality standards.
- Leadership and Growth: As the operation expands grow into a higher leadership role with a clear path for professional advancement.

- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a team.

- Analytical Skills: Strong problemsolving and analytical skills to identify areas for improvement in production and quality processes.
- Collaborative Approach: Ability to partner with other plants and internal stakeholders to achieve production goals.
- Communications Skills: Must have strong communications skills. Be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency as needed.
