Job Overview:
The Management Accountant will play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support business strategy and decisionmaking. This position is responsible for budgeting forecasting and preparing management reports while ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
Job Description:
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts including P&L balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Develop monitor and update annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with department managers
- Conduct variance analysis providing explanations for differences between actual and budgeted results.
- Analyze business performance and provide recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Perform cost analysis and recommend measures for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ATO regulations GST BAS PAYG and FBT requirements.
- Manage monthend and yearend financial closing ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders supporting senior management with datadriven insights.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
- Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for effective cash management.
- Provide support for the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align financial planning with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA or CA certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting preferably in an Australian context.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations including GST BAS PAYG and FBT.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. MYOB Xero QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
