Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nursing)

Location: Rochester NY 14617

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Shift: Rotating

Pay Rate: $55/hr

Your pay is based on Local or Travel position. Travel is residence >50 miles from the facility.

Description / Comment :

  • D/N Rotate Shift*
  • Required Certifications: NRP AHA BLS.
  • 2 years of previous NICU experience required.
  • Level 2 NICU; infants requesting intensive care >32 weeks GA; Up to 24 hours ventilation; inborn and transfers from outlying hospitals.
  • Specialty Equipment: Draeger warmers and isolettes; neopuff.
  • Does NOT accept local candidates within 50 miles!
  • Floating is expected.
  • Expected to work every other weekend.
  • Expected to work every other holiday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

    • Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for neonatal patients.
    • Administer medications treatments and procedures as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
    • Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate records of patient progress and response to treatment.
    • Provide support and education to families regarding their infants condition treatment plans and care procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
    • Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNCNIC) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in neonatal nursing or a related field preferred.
    • Demonstrated clinical competence in neonatal care.
  • Skills:
    • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a highstress fastpaced environment.
    • Compassionate and patientcentered approach to care.
