Job Description

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidates will have between 2 and 5 years of experience in complex litigation particularly patent and other IP and/or federal court litigation.

She/he/they will have a Paralegal certificate and equivalent experience working as a paralegal in an established law firm or degree from an accredited college with some law office or related experience.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Word (ideally also Excel and PowerPoint) with experience in generating TOC and TOA a plus.

ECFfiling experience and/or willingness and aptitude to learn and handle filing process.

Experience with and/or interest in intellectual property law including patentrelated matters.

Flexibility in terms of willingness and ability to perform a variety of tasks as needed.

Selfstarter who takes pride of ownership in projects and is willing to learn from others.

Reliability being in office on time and consistently during scheduled hours.

Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Managing ECF filing and service of court documents

Maintaining case calendar and ongoing docket of deadlines update events as cases progress through stages of litigation and monitor and remind attorneys and teams of deadlines

Managing intake of new cases and maintenance of client files including upkeep and archiving of firm and client records set up organize maintain and archive electronic files

Word processing and cite checking of legal documents including review of legal documents for errors and accuracy as to citations and also TOA and TOC

Maintaining familiarity with court rules

Handling confidential and sensitive materials from clients and other parties

Coordinating with attorneys on document production and review processes including acting as interface with vendors and review platform providers
