Job Description

Job Summary:

The company a leader in aerospace manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist Level 2 to join our team in Gardena CA. As a Level 2 CNC Lathe Machinist you will be responsible for setting up operating and troubleshooting CNC lathe machines to produce precision aerospace components. This role requires advanced machining skills the ability to read complex blueprints and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts according to blueprints engineering drawings and work orders.
  • Select install and adjust tooling offsets and machine parameters to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC lathe machines to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
  • Measure and inspect parts using precision tools such as micrometers calipers and gauges to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints technical drawings and CAD models to determine machining specifications and processes.
  • Adjust machine controls and modify programming as necessary to accommodate changes in part dimensions or material properties.
  • Work with the quality assurance team to identify and correct any defects or nonconformances in machined parts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to all company safety standards and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to lowerlevel machinists as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing environment preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming Gcode and Mcode.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers calipers and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing highquality parts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or working with tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of different materials such as aluminum titanium and stainless steel.
  • Formal training or certification in CNC machining.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.

Work Environment:

  • Fulltime position in a manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to loud machinery metalworking fluids and heavy equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required at all times.
