Job Description

Manual Machinist
Pay Range:$23 $27 per hour
Location:Broken Arrow OK
Hours:Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (Some Saturdays & Overtime)

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. This role involves operating manual mills and lathes interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring precise machining of parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills a mechanical aptitude and a commitment to meeting production and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret work orders blueprints engineering plans and specifications to plan machining processes.
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Manage stock inventory monitor availability and anticipate needed materials.
  • Set up mills and lathes including entering zero and reference points configuring tool offsets and calculating machining requirements.
  • Load workpieces into machines and verify settings by measuring positions and conducting tests on firstrun parts and samples.
  • Maintain product quality by observing operations taking measurements troubleshooting issues and making adjustments as needed.
  • Edit programs sharpen and replace worn tools and follow quality assurance procedures.
  • Achieve production targets in terms of cycle time quantity and quality.

Additional Duties:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and initiate repair work orders when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with team members across shifts to ensure continuity of work.
  • Maintain accurate records by completing required documentation and logs.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay informed on technical developments.

Qualifications:

  • Manual Machining experience is required.
  • A certification or apprenticeship from a Vocational/Technical School (4year program) or at least 5 years of machining experience.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical journals and blueprints.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively.
