Overview:
The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery is crucial in providing safe and effective care to women during childbirth. The RN plays a key role in assisting with the delivery process ensuring the wellbeing of both the mother and baby and providing support and education to new parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing the health status of the mother and fetus during labor
- Monitoring vital signs and fetal heart rate
- Assisting with pain management and comfort measures
- Supporting and educating the mother and her family
- Assisting with labor induction or augmentation
- Preparing and administering medications
- Assisting with medical procedures such as cesarean sections
- Documenting labor progression and patient care
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe delivery
- Providing postpartum care and education
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNCOB) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
- Strong understanding of fetal monitoring and assessment
- Ability to prioritize and make critical decisions in fastpaced environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of childbirth practices and evidencebased care
- Ability to provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care
Pay Scale
$34.15/hr. along with a per diem of $19.50/hr.
Local Rates (Below 75 Miles):$42.92/hr.

- Per Week: 36 Hours
