Director Product Manager Data and Platform Integration
Visas Ecosystem Risk Programs (ERP) is a pivotal Global Risk division dedicated to safeguarding the payment ecosystems safety and integrity by preventing illegal and fraudulent activities. This mission is achieved through the implementation of robust risk quality control and compliance programs aligned with Visa Rules and additional client guidelines. ERP leverages proprietary tools specialized thirdparty vendors regional risk teams and other stakeholders to maintain quality control. By utilizing internal and external discovery sources ERP gains critical insights into illegal merchant activities thereby ensuring the Visa networks integrity. It collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to advance its mission and initiatives.
This role is ideal for an experienced Software Professional who is passionate about working with business stakeholders product and technology partners to enable enterprise platforms and analytics solutions. You will define the strategic vision for the ERP platform developing tools and services that protect Visas payment systems.
Essential Functions :
Data Governance and Management
- Utilize both internal Visa data and external/opensource data to manage investigations.
- Set up monthly data ingestion pipelines in a cloud environment using technologies such as Python Java J2EE and Microservices.
- Manage data quality metrics and operational KPIs.
- Oversee data standardization integration governance and lineage for downstream consumption and analytics.
- Implement data analytics using Python to drive insights and improve product excellence.
Platform Integration
- Transform vendor data feeds and ingest them into the platforms data access layer for enduser utilization.
- Use thirdparty products for seamless integration into existing systems and workflows.
New Discovery Source Research
- Research new opensource and paid discovery sources.
- Conduct coverage analysis gap identification and annual planning.
Data Analysis and Automation
- Perform data deepdives analytics and automation to track trends coverage and impact from various discovery sources periodically using tools like Python SQL and Excel.
- Experiment with inhouse and thirdparty data sets to test hypotheses on the relevance and value of data to business problems.
- Translate data investigations and analyses into actionable business intelligence for business decisionmaking.
- Develop insights using Generative AI and metrics for enhancing product excellence.
Management Information Systems
Maintain oversight on Visa ERP discovery source/tool effectiveness through Management Information Systems (MIS) and dashboards.
Industry Trends and Research
- Monitor industry trends and research new potential discovery sources (both paid and open source).
- Build strategic roadmaps conduct coverage analysis and perform gap identification for existing and new discovery sources.
Sourcing and Integrations of ThirdParty Data
- Identify evaluate and integrate thirdparty data sources to enhance the platforms capabilities.
- Ensure the seamless integration of thirdparty data into existing systems and workflows.
Discovery Source and Alerts
- Manage and monitor discovery sources to ensure timely and accurate alert generation.
- Develop and implement strategies for the effective use of discovery source alerts in risk management and fraud prevention initiatives.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- 10 years of work experience with a Bachelors degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 5 years of work experience with a PhD.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Python Java and webservice integrations.
- Expertise in performing data analyses investigations trend forecasts and deep dives on large volumes of diverse datasets using tools like Python SQL and Excel.
- Experience in working with Generative AI to establish insights.
- Lay Understanding of machine learning
- Experience in extracting analyzing and aggregating data.
- Expertise in working with internal and thirdparty data feeds with different levels of coverage quality and aggregation.
- Experience in building data access layers at scale and feeding them into enterprise platforms analytics and other tech solutions.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with the ability to use hard data and metrics to support assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
- Familiarity with systems architecture and tracking data flow through complex and highscale systems.
- Experience in managing data and analytics vendor relationships including managing contracts assessing performance and building vendor roadmaps.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving capability combined with a drive to solve realworld problems.
- Strong interpersonal facilitation and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Great work ethics and a team player aiming for the best results as a team.
- Ability to work with internal product development and engineering teams to deliver products on schedule with high quality. Comfortable in a heavily matrixed organization.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
- Ability to understand both business and technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 810 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD.
- PhD in Computer Science Operations Research Statistics or a highly quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience as a data product owner data governance or data management SME in a payments network fintech banking or financial services firm.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Tableau and Microsoft Technologies (SQL Server Power BI Analysis Services).
- Advanced Excel skills including the ability to produce graphs and tables use spreadsheets efficiently and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data.
- Familiarity with the application of datasets in advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.
- Experience in architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind using tools like Jenkins and Bamboo.
- Ability to do highlevel system design and workflows to represent the implementation of the requirements.
- Ability to fully understand technical architecture overall system design.
- Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools e.g. JIRA.
- Selfstarter who can communicate with a deep understanding of the company needs and enable people to move forward through complexity.
- Demonstrated crossfunctional competence having led/coordinated teams across functional areas in large matrixed organizations.
